Breaking Down What’s Driving Costs
We know the upward trend of health care costs is expected to continue, impacting organizations and individuals alike. Rising costs associated with musculoskeletal disorders, heart and circulatory care, cancer treatment and prescription drugs are challenging patients, doctors, businesses, health plans, and the entire health care system.
As a local, nonprofit health plan, we direct almost all of our resources toward supporting our members’ health. For every premium dollar, 92 cents goes directly to medical services such as prescription drugs, hospitals stays, doctor visits, and more.

How We’re Helping Control Costs While Supporting Member Health
When we support our members’ health, we’re also helping to control rising health care costs. Programs like care coordination, chronic condition support and virtual care help improve access and ensure our members get the right care at the right time.
As a local, mission-based health plan, we work closely with providers and the broader health care system to keep our members healthier — helping to prevent health issues that can also lead to higher costs.
