- Open enrollment start and end dates
Open enrollment for new enrollments starts on November 1 this year on and off exchange and runs through January 31, 2027. Existing members can make plan changes and update eligibility starting November 16. - Virtual care options for 2027
Members can save time and travel with the convenience of virtual care — including medical, behavioral health, dermatology and physical therapy — no longer subject to the deductible on applicable plans. - Ovia Health by Labcorp
Members can get 24/7 support for reproductive health, family planning, pregnancy, parenthood and menopause transition — all through the Ovia Health app. (Subject to final contract terms.)
Ovia Health by Labcorp is an independent company offering digital women’s health solutions to Excellus BlueCross BlueShield members. - Retired plans
The Bronze Standard HSA plan will be retired for 2027. Members will be automatically mapped to Bronze Standard, which is now HSA eligible. The Base (catastrophic) plan will only be offered in Clinton, Herkimer, Montgomery, Otsego & Tompkins counties. - ThriveWell℠
ThriveWell, our health and wellbeing benefit in partnership with Personify Health, allows members to focus on what matters to them most. Centered on the whole person, members can work on improving their eating and sleeping habits, as well as their physical activity. They can earn Rewards Cash for completing a Health Risk Assessment and by earning reward points through healthy activities.
ThriveWell is included with our Qualified Health Plans and the Essential Plan. The spouse/domestic partner benefit is only available with Qualified Health Plans.
Personify Health is a separate company and offers a digital wellbeing service on behalf of Excellus BlueCross BlueShield - Changes in 2026 and 2027
The Essential Plan 200-250 was discontinued on June 30, 2026.
In October of 2026, new limits were imposed on categories of noncitizens eligible for the Essential Plan, Medicaid Managed Care and Child Health Plus.
Starting in January of 2027, there will be further restrictions on eligibility for tax credits for certain immigrants. In addition, some adult Medicaid members will need to recertify twice annually and comply with new work requirements.
