Large Group HMO And Medicare Supplement Rate Requests Filed With NYS

In June 2026, applications were submitted to the New York State Department of Financial Services (NYSDFS) requesting 2027 premium rate changes for our community-rated Large Group HMO and Medicare Supplement products.

The following products are included in this 2027 rate filing:

  • Blue Choice 25
  • Blue Choice 30
  • HMO Blue 25
  • HMO Blue 30
  • Medicare Supplement

Employer Group Information
Initial notification letters will be mailed in the coming weeks to employer groups and members enrolled in the products listed above. These letters will include the requested percentage change in premium rates submitted to NYSDFS.

NYSDFS will review our proposal and determine the final approved rates in the fall. Employer groups and enrolled members will receive an Annual Rate Notice with final, approved rates approximately 60 days prior to their renewal date.

Broker Information
In July, you will receive an encrypted email with copies of the initial notification letters sent to your groups. Please note that encrypted emails* will expire if not opened within the timeframe specified in the notification.

Your groups will receive their Annual Rate Notice with final, approved rates 60 days prior to their renewal date.

It is important that employer groups distribute the individual member letters to their employees, along with any additional context regarding rate changes, which may differ from those included in the initial notification (e.g., due to shared expense arrangements).
